wait! For everyone mad/upset/unhappy at the Noragami ending!

SPOILERS:

He cuts ties with hiyori and she forgets him… but does she really????

He goes “viral” and people “remember” him so he lives but does he really…..

Here’s my hot take: in that moment SURE yeah maybe a bunch of random people heard and remembered “oh that guy said he was a god ,sure yeah I remember seeing that” FINE.

But that’s not what keeps him alive.

Hiyori may have lost her memories but she sure as fuck remembers something. And it seems she ponders on it constantly. THATS what’s keeping Yato alive. I’m 100% positive regardless of whether he knows it or not.

And in some sort of maybe bittersweetness, I think we obviously know by the ending they’re reunited and she remembers everything (CANON by the picture of them all together in the ending in her doctors outfit being the literal ending) that being said…. I’d like to think she continues her life, and she continues loving yato by her literal FATE TIED TO HIM BY THE MATCH MAKING GOD. So here’s the maybe sweet? Bitter ?depending on your view part.. when hiyori dies maybe yato will die with her in some beautiful way? Instead of yato living on forever without her ..( assuming no one else would remember him who’s living) it’s very “ the notebook” coded in my head since I want the match making to be eternal, but anyway here’s to hoping it gave us yatori shippers some kind of resolution and covering up the dumb plot hope of him going viral lol.

NORAGAMI YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS🤧🩷

I'm completely overwhelmed. I started noragami when I was in high school in 2014 and I loved the anime and manga since the first second. I waited for months because of the hiatus and sincerely I thought that this masterpiece was never going to have a proper ending. I was so sad for a long period of time... I really wanted to know more about every character that I fell in love with.

Here I am 10 years later, the end is between us. I suddenly want to go back in time and tell my past self about every shiver I had, every tear I shed and every anger explosion I went through reading this magnum opus of manga. The only person who would understand all my excitement with a twinkle in their eye would be my 16-year-old self. Since I can't do that, I will always carry in my heart this unique story with incredible characters.

I hope that in the future we can have a third season of the anime and some kind of spin of about their lifes during Hiyori's adulthood, cause the world of Noragami is so rich, it could easily have more interesting stuffs to pull out.

With a bittersweet feeling in my heart: Noragami is over, but will never be forgotten🤧

I think like many others I am only upset with the ending to Noragami because I wanted yato and hiyori to be together forever, but she wouldn’t have been the person yato and yukine knew. I think this was the best outcome that could have been. I think the irony of kofuku tying their plates together way back makes a lot of sense here, it didn’t work out the way we wanted but at least we get something.

Something interesting to note too is I don’t think Hiyori is tied to the far shore anymore like i don’t think she can astral project anymore so that leaves the adventures with Yato and Yukine a lot more mundane. I think the ending is the best it could have been, while there is a lot we will have to wonder about, what matters is that they are happy to just be around each other, and at least Hiyori will keep remembering Yato not so he won’t disappear. I’ll miss this manga and I really hope it continues to get adapted one day 🥲
