4. Bad book habit?
I've been dog-earing a lot lately and I'm always reading like ten books at the same time, because they are all so interesting.. but I think a lot of bookworms can relate to that. Also, as I've already mentioned, I have some nasty prejudice against compulsory books and books that were recommended - you have to be either close to my comfort zone or very charismatic when you are recommending reading material to me.
20. What makes you love a book?
A lot of things that I won't notice until I finished it and I try to put what I'd experienced into words. A fast-paced story with wonderfully half-hidden hints you won't discover until you've reached that certain plot twist, cliffhanger. A slightly slower-paced story with a style flowing and reaching into your heart, your mind, putting something of yours into harsh black ink. Complex, flawed, human, extraordinary characters you can relate to, characters you haven't met before in real life but will know them better than anyone else by the end of the book; characters you see around you and haven't paid attention to yet. The way these characters grow and learn and teach you important things about life. The way random letters put together suddenly make you laugh, cry, think, fall in love.
I don't think I can explain it, but anyone who has ever read a good book and found themselves sitting in the exact same position till 3AM knows.
21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?
If I find myself in above 'said' state. ^
27. Most inspirational book you've read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?
The Ocean at the End of the Lane. A Hungarian classic, Az ember tragédiája (The Tragedy of Man). Stephanie Perkins books. The uncensored version of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Diana Gabaldon books.
Idk, fortunately I find most of the books I come across inspirational for one thing or another.
39. Favourite fictional villain?
Honestly, I have no idea. I find most villains too complex to be simply put into the 'villain' box - a matter of perspective, really. Well, yes, it's not a nice thing to blow up cities and such, but a real 'villain'... idk, I've always wanted to know more about their backstory, and when I got that, I was... not sympathetic, not that, but I saw them as really messed up human beings with wrong ideas and I couldn't look at them and see only the killing machines.
44. Favorite film adaptation of a novel?
Gone with the Wind, Harry Potter films (not without flaws, I know, but A*** book atmosphere for most of the time), The Time Traveller's Wife aaaaand... can't remember any more at the moment. Books -> TV shows are usually better in my opinion.
Thank you so much, sorry for the hideous length of the reply:)
