lando: "that’s also where i went to my first ever racetrack was in yeovil, a track called clay pigeon. it was after school. my dad took both my brother oli, and myself to the- and it was a british championship, so it was a busy event. but it was my first time ever going to any event or anything.

i can remember watching on the pit straight and walking around the whole paddock area and i was like ‘oh my god, who's this guy?’ he had number 46. he also had on the front ‘the doctor’ and as soon as i saw that, i was like ‘oh my god, he knows valentino rossi.’

mr. alex albon, on my first ever day at a racetrack. and yeah, now i'm racing against that guy. we're both in formula 1, which is pretty cool."

“It was Lando’s idea,” Oscar admits with a sheepish grin. His cheeks are already dashed through with red, an ever present indicator of his self-consciousness. He appears to consider something for a moment before hurrying to add: “but I’m, uh — fully on board, obviously..”

“Obviously,” Alex can’t quite keep the laughter at bay as he gently mimics Oscar. His eyes catch on Lando lounging on the bed, the picture of practiced unaffectedness. “Should’ve guessed you’d be behind this.”

Or after the Canadian GP, Oscar wants to apologise to Alex. Lando has just the idea.

alex making fun of lando's wdc status in the gcs while acknowledging how amazing last season actually was 💙

wb: do you guys give lando a bit more gyp now he's a world champion, in the groupchats? alex: he's too big for us now wb: does he not reply to the groupchats anymore? alex: (laughter) no, he's still the same wb: he still the same alex: i was like "my god, i'm going to create something terrible here"... no! i'm very happy for him ofc! but um... will: are you? alex: yeah, ofc [i'm happy for him]! truly, truly! i think he did an amazing season last season. it felt like the way that he kind of struggled a bit at the beginning of the season, relative to how he normally starts the season or how he normally goes and then really got into the swing of things. it was... i feel like he proved a lot of people wrong.
