More info on John /nic/sharky there ship gives me life
Sharky’s been in love with Nic/at least interested in John since game canon. It’s one of the reasons Sharky volunteered to be Cal’s pretend father when news of the Johnnic Oops Baby (Cal) got out. An equal scandal, but less of a problematic scandal, and it got people to not hate Nic which was A-OK with him
John was low-key jealous of Sharky and Nic’s dynamic at first because they were such strong best friends and there was clear unconditional, seemingly platonic love between them, which he never had with Nic until ages into their relationship. He earned her trust and love, Sharky got it regardless. Sure, it made Johnnic stronger as a couple, but it still would’ve been nice to have it so effortlessly like Sharky did
John/Nic/Sharky getting intimate was only supposed to be a one night only thing. One and done, out of the system, they all admitted attraction and being adventurous in sexual exploits back in the day, so they all got “drunk”- (read: slightly tipsy) to ease their nerves and fuckin’ went for it
Woke up the next day all cuddly and cute and happy and were all “oh shit, this can’t be just one night, we’re attached”
So then it just keeps happening and before long Sharky’s got “his own” pillow and preferred side of the bed and he moves into Seed Ranch with them, but only because his trailer was decimated.
John and Nic are open to having him in their relationship, but they figure with all the stories he’s got he’s very much a non-commitment guy so they give him a wide berth like they assume he wants.
And then they have a conversation where Feelings are admitted and then by the end of it Sharky’s an official thing with them.
They try to keep it low key but considering in the Post-Collapse world Johnnic is basically royalty and none of them know the meaning of subtle, people Know. And aren’t surprised at all. And considering Nic bagged the last remaining Herald of the Project, well, now they’ve seen everything, of course she bagged the resident pyromaniac who was head over heels in love with her on sight. And of course Crazy John is just so smitten with Nic he’d just go along with it. This is The New World, poly ain’t quite groundbreaking enough to be scandalous anymore.
The next generation of the Raylan-Boshaw clan at random points in their life/ in the world where I don’t give Nic’s vag a break and let her have five kids. Cal, Willa and Ariadne are John’s, Charlie and Lennox are Sharky’s
Fun fact: Nic didn’t mind naming Charlie after Sharky, but absolutely refused to name their son after after Clutch Nixon like he wanted. They compromised with ‘Lennox’, because the “Nixon” thought is vaguely there but original enough that it’s not obvious. John thinks the name debate is hilarious considering that Cal was still “Apocalypse Baby” all through her pregnancy and minutes after his birth so Nic’s got absolutely no right to talk.
