My roommate has a (complicated family relationship that we will condense down to) niece we will call V. V turns 1 next month. V was absolutely fascinated by my Long Furby and when I asked Mom if I should make one for her, Mom said she didn't have room for a 4 food monstrosity. I told Mom there was a pattern on Etsy for a crocheted normal furby. No hard parts. No electronics so no demonic talking at 2 in the morning even though you removed the batteries hours ago. Able to be thrown into the washing machine when V inevitably gets it dirty. The ability to make it orange, which is V's favorite color. Mom says sure.
Okay, one. It is in the process of making this furby that I discover that I have been crocheting backwards for eight years. Nightmare.
Two. This pattern is either really badly written or I am a moron or both. Probably both. I have redone these pieces SO MANY TIMES.
So. Here is the finished body of the crocheted normal furby for the baby in my life who turns 1 next month.
