“darkfield” was filmed in front of a live studio audience
this video is pretty stupid but it was also created in a little under three hours from pretty much scratch. The jon and garf models were ripped from the garfield DS game- thanks, http://www.models-resource.com/ - but otherwise it’s all me, from rigging and animating to some pretty heavy shader work on darkfield. And of course the base concept.
why’ve you done this
It's really easy to lose sight of the end of a project, especially when you're in a creative career like game dev. It gets really demotivating and I find myself slowing down because of it. And that’s no good! So I’m trying to get myself out of that by making a few EXTREMELY tiny, EXTREMELY small projects. Just stuff I can hammer out in half a day. But stuff that I know I put actual effort into.
It’s good to remind yourself that there’s an end to every project, and that if you don’t see that end in sight, you should keep at it (and also probably make the project smaller!)
HEY, it’s my birthday, and it’s got me THINKIN’ BOUT HOW I DO THINGS alright
