I was fortunate enough to spend a short afternoon with the two brother behind Norman Porter at their workshop in Philadelphia.  I’ve been a fan of their work since I was first introduced to it a few years back.  Their excellent craftsmanship isn’t limited to denim; they showed me some new carpentry projects including a custom credenza that features a built in amplifier and guitar drawer - which Mike field tested on the spot.  

Attention to design and detail runs deep throughout their work.

Dropping today at noon, eastern time, is the first release of Norman Porter's NP02 cut, a straight & classic fit. It also happens to be a killer collaboration between them and the Selvedge Yard, with tattooed patches by Mike Ski of True Hand Society, a tattoo shop in the heart of Fishtown, Philadelphia.

14.5 Oz 100% cotton White Oak Cone Mill selvedge denim

Color: Indigo

Wardrobe Wednesday: Philadelphia Textile Collection

This Friday November 1st is the launch of the Philadelphia Textile Collection, a collaboration between Art in the Age and The Design Center.  The capsule collection includes these limited-edition Cone Mills cotton duck pants by Fishtown-based Norman Porter. The pocket lining features our military camp print, originally produced by Schwabe and Son in 1885.
