My dog who doesn't like being picked up lets me pick him up when he wants to Gaze Into the Hamster Cage

*looks at the toilet paper tube already in my hamster's cage, chewed and played with, then looks at the intact toilet paper tube in my hand*

I could gaslight you so bad right now

Got Norman a couple of new toys, fighting the urge to speak like Final Pam as i put them in his cage

Me: Look at that, it's so nice that Norman now sits in my hand instead of squirming like crazy so I can pet him, he's starting to trust me. I'm going to take a picture of this moment.

It took my dad one week to go from "That thing is going to live in this house? In my house? Where I live?" to "He needs a little vest with a leash attached to it so you can take him around the house. Also a bigger cage. Move out of your room, that's his room now."
