Well in that case, it’s like… first there’s the translation in the official english manga that kinda goes in that direction, remplacing the "i love you" from the "daisuki" with this:

And that, I’ve seen people argue that it wasn’t supposed to be romantic. Which. Still kinda blows my mind.

More recently, something similar happened in the manga Tokyo Ghoul: Re, where one of the character, Hide, is asked why he would try so hard to protect Kaneki, and he replies “Because I love him”, and the word he uses is “suki”, and the full sentence itself in japanese (i don’t have it saved) have him put a lot of focus on the “suki” ,showing it was the focus of the sentence and it was important. aaaand I’ve seen a shitstorm out of it, going “ye but “suki” is platonic”, so i’m just. Exasperated. Especially since it happened, like, two days after I saw that panel of the American version of that sentence (and the fact i did in fact see a lot of people arguing it was only platonic). 

So I suppose i’m just slightly petty because it’s not even up to debate when m/f says “suki” or “daisuki”, people never debates on whenever it’s platonic or not. so it becomes just exhausting when this sort of shitstorm always happens when it’s not the case.

And I agree love doesn’t mean romantic per se, i’m just tired that in those exemple in particular, it’s questioned when it wasn’t meant to be this way

My guess is that we are seeing the Allen part of it atm, and once we are done the narrative should shift to Lavi. As much as I want to see him I would scream if Hoshino left us hanging with Allen's situation. Once more, CharaGray is years old and she could have changed opinions but I doubt it. We are talking about the woman that had decided that Allen would end up running away from the Order as early as Volume 3

!! Completely agree tbh. At this point it will focus on Allen, and it makes sense. I just wonder if he’d finally be brought up or even like, maybe more mention from the Noah (like we had in the previous chapters), but ye, before moving to his storyline we need to finish what is happening with Allen for now.

And ohh I didn’t know she planned it that early :OOO That’s amazing omg. She has so much planned!!

I just know that she mentioned Lavi’s arc should be the next one and that since Lavi was the protag of the previous manga she wanted to do and all, she had planned a lot around him, so i just o(-( want to know. I miss Lavi so much hhh it’s been years i wanna see my son again.

But o(-( we’ll be patient and first the narrative must move on to allow it. One step at a time!

So close to the number of the beast... But in Kanda's case it's probably because of Mugen.

kjdhf I know we joke about that in the hxh fandom since, well, Hisoka may just as well have crawled out of hell all by himself and hadn’t really been born -

But for Kanda, he doesn’t deserve it, except if it’s to say that the Second Exorcist Project was Hell which. True. 

But also i don’t think the date itself is that hugely associated with it...

However, what do you mean by “because of Mugen”? :O I’m really curious now i feel like i’m missing an info :O

I may not be into shipping for the most part but that's some really nice meta right there. Also in CharaGrey Allen describes his relationship with Lavi as "We get along strangely well" and Lavi "a character I absolutely need to keep checked" < as in bookman duties, I would say. You're welcome (?)

Aaah omg i’m glad you think so even though you’re not into shipping :’D Well, either way i think it’s mostly just about the characters dynamic between each other, and then your feelings about it that push it further or nah. I’m glad though if you think it made sense :3

and.... and oh my god....... I love this..... I’m going to cry again this is really neat (i knew Lavi would say he “checks” Allen “for bookman duties” i k n e w i t)(and i love that Allen describes his relationship with him like that i’m gonna cry)

I'm talking about a particular sentence. In the Ark Arc, when Allen gets his Innocence's sword form (chapter 117), Road says this: "視てる？千年公。あれは――貴方が悪魔に為損なった彼のピエロだよ". The translation would be something in this line "Are you looking, Millennium Duke? That is... that clown you failed to make a devil/akuma". The fantranslation messed up it, I checked (understandable) and the english translation left the "clown" bit.

I checked, the french version kept the Clown, but d a mn how can someone glance over it??? With the heavy clown imagery and imporance of it, this is so weird someone would miss it. This is so weird......

I always thought that DGM was very unfit for an action series and that whenever Hoshino was in some degree forced to go with it (the Ark's Arc. Like she HAD to think in a way to get Lavi a battle despite going against the character) it didn't feel right. A battle series needs elements that DGM lacks. And that's good because DGM never intended to be one and the battles are just a way to get a story about war moving forwards.

Yes I completely agree. The heart of the serie was never really int he fights tbh. Hell, when you look at the two very first arcs (the introduction arc and the Mattel arc), both focus much more on personhood than on the fighting. 

The first chapter? It’s about telling you how tragic the akuma are.  When we get to Allen’s backstory, and that Allen fights the Earl, it’s still about how tragic the Akuma are and make you have sympathy for the Akuma the way Allen does. And the Mattel arcs, showing both Lalla’s side and the enemy’s side, makes it clear the focus is on the raw emotion of Lalla’s story, not on the fighting. 

And honestly, she handles herself well with how she ballances her elements, but the thing is still that dgm talks about stuff that can’t exactly be twisted into a battle series.

There is no Competition arc, the closest to a training arc we got was in the Asian Branch and i can’t even start on how it doesn’t even follow traditional arc like that - dgm is about that. I don’t know what people expect.....

like, this is what i love about dgm. So i’m puzzled people would hold it against it :/

It’s war. It’s mostly built as a tragedy, and tbh that’s one of its strength, because then the themes of Hopes are even clearer. Something I love about dgm is that the humor comes from the fact that the characters are painfully aware that they are in a terrible situation, but they acknowledge also that what they can do is laugh it off. They want to keep a smile, they want to still try, and they want to rely one ach other, and it’s where the humors creates itself. It never takes away from the Tragic moments because it feeds on the tragic moments. I love that.
