The original sign advertising the Royal Motel in North Syracuse, New York is still standing strong and points travelers to the now abandoned motel. The structure is almost fully covered by overgrown weeds and is placed far behind the sign, out of view from the street. What’s interesting about this sign is if you zoom in closely, you can see that it was actually reused from a previous business called the Royal Atlantic Diner. Get a closer look here.

Yesterday I was in a genuine art gallery and today I found myself in an impromptu teenage gallery in the woods when I went for a nostalgia walk in my ol' stompin' grounds (as mediocre and soggy as I remembered). Hadn't been here in several years.
Clockwise from top left: a couple of funky lichen shots, cool eyeball thing, the most unfortunate phallic ratio I've ever seen rendered in spray paint, "Look Behind You," & "Knock Knock" (which I think is actually quite clever), just the word "BONER"in all caps (intricate rituals abound), and the word "boats" with a cute illustration of a sailboat.
The kids are alright.
I used to drag my friends out here to do costumed photoshoots. I'm glad people still come here.

In January 2010 in North Syracuse, New York a seventh grade student at Roxboro Road Middle School was suspended for creating a Facebook group page thatlibeled one of her teachers. The school's principal said that the young girl's intent was to "hurt her teacher" who had, apparently, angered her in some way. Twenty-five other students who had contributed to her page were given lesser punishments.[156] The Superintendent of the North Syracuse Central School District Dr. Jerome Melvin said that the comments on the page were "sexual in nature". He has emphasized the seriousness of the case and expressed his hope that it will trigger parents into taking a more serious effort in monitoring their children's internet activities.[157]
