When I lived in Grand Turk, TCI 13+ years ago, one of my favorite things to see was the mangroves and the rich marine life they harbored 🐠🐟🦀 I remember being so blown away that one day our Form 1 Science class went on a field trip to North Creek. I'd never realized sea water could be so clear that you see all of the marine life present without even stepping in (it was so pretty!!!!) North Caicos Vibes...where it all began...🇹🇨 The first known inhabitants of the Caicos Islands were the Lucayans AKA the Tainos. They began to migrate up through the Caribbean islands from South or Central America about 1300 years ago. Theo de Booy, a famous early 1900s anthropologist, visited the Turks and Caicos and examined the cays and islands in the archipelago. He found Lucayan cultural remains, including tools, ceramics, and bone, at many sites across North Caicos.
