You know what I think would have been cool?
If Markus was able to romance either North, Simon and Josh but the gameplay changed depending on your choice.
If you pick North, you're locked in the violent path. If you pick Josh, you must choose peace and if you end up with Simon, it's a mix between the two.
The other three members of Jericho should have definitely been a romantic option with those choices affecting the gameplay as well.

“Ah, yeah…” He chuckles, almost embarrassed at seeing his soul laid bare before his lover. “I-it’s nothing. Just something I made before deviating…”
North chuckles softly.
“I knew Carl was a talented painter…”
She turns to him with a gentle smile.
“…I should’ve known his son would be as good, too.”
Markus blushes.
“You’re flattering me…”
“Not at all. It’s beautiful.”
A smile.
“Thank you, North.”
