Re: your tags on the bpqd conspiracy post — you know that the letter flipping is one of the most basic signs of dyslexia, right? I learned this in teaching class and was blown away. My teacher yelled at me about it too! Both our teachers were trash! This is a legit learning disability not a willful laziness!
Oh yeah- I don’t have Dyslexia but a related reading disorder that keeps cropping up in child psychology, educational and linguistic sciences but it’s got 17 names because it’s so little discussed that everyone thinks they’re the first to stumble on it but the short version:I assign meaning to shape and bypass phoentics entirely.
Pros:
Mispellings don’t bother me because if you’ve got enough of the letters in sorta the right order I’ll probably read it without noticing.
Made learning hieroglphics real easy when I had that Egyptian Phase in sixth grade
Can read emotions in hadwriting based on pen stress which is. An thing.
Nobody can read my handwriting on casual mode so everything I write is by default An Encrypted Message
I can read things upside down almost as easily as rightside up.
Cons:
Can’t spell words I’ve only heard
Can’t pronounce words I’ve only read
elementary school was hell
Nobody can read my handwriting on casual mode so everything I write is by default An Encrypted Message Which Is A Real Problem When I’m Trying To Leave People Notes
Keep getting literacy-Shamed by old people becuase I can’t write cursive but they don’t know how to use a word processor IT’S 2019 FOR FUCK’S SAKE MARJORIE. Let technology improve your life. Get An Email.
