Hello I would like to ask you as the resident Dundy expert. Is Dundy his real nickname historically, or is it something from the show/fans?

As far as historical evidence for Dundy being his nickname, I have yet to see it. From the archival documents I’ve seen and other historic references, I’ve never seen him go by anything other than Henry or Harry (his cousin referred to him as Harry in one of his letters, his story is pretty tragic as well!)

However I love David and Soo who probably have the hidden Dundy knowledge. Dundy is such a good play on Dundas and I just wanna know where it came from?? Was it really historical?? Something the writers came up with?? Tobias riffing on the spot?? I’d really like to know as well.
