"It lives in my mothers hallway". I knew the thing briefly as a child. Perhaps the product of an easily susceptible childhood imagination encouraged by the obsolete superstitions of religious zealots. Until Christmas eve of 2014 when I stayed the night at my mother's house in my old room. Around three in the morning as I was watching a movie on my laptop I heard my mother in the next room fighting in her sleep. It's when she called out in several primitive grunts that were rather loud and unsettling that I knew something was up. Not just primitive grunts, but of a very stern archaic language with a distinct dialect. Nothing quite grips you like your mother speaking in a voice that is not of her in the next room in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve. When I spoke to her about it the next morning she simply said "yes, that's something I have been dealing with".
