When I replied to a question about sex that me and my wife are ace and not sexually inclined at all to a (newer) friend, she seemed so shocked and asked... what we did. ...Normal, non-sexual couple stuff? She asked, "So you're just friends?" "...No. Not at all." "How is that different from friendship?" After the conversation kept circling around and around with no change in her opinion, I finally got so humiliated that I just... gave up and stopped talking.

You definitely don’t owe the close-minded an explanation. It sucks that not everyone’s gonna get it, but that’s their problem.
