I've been having a weird time with . . . my face, lately. Like I've managed to feel pretty damn good about my body by now after years of eating disorders and shame - I genuinely wouldn't choose to make my body look different than it does now if I could (well, except for a couple tattoos I can't afford at the minute) and that feels really good. But when I look at my face in pictures I see a lot of the tiredness and mourning that I've done in the last few months. I am theoretically very pro-selfie and pro-women/femmes celebrating our own images instead of being told when we're allowed to feel lovely. But I've still had . . . a weird time with my face lately. My new friend @prettylittleescape_ 's work is helping remind me that I do want to care for and represent myself as I am now. So, I went to a place I knew I wouldn't be observed (one of my favorite middle-of-nowhere castle ruins, all over the place here) and took some no makeup, no smile selfies. And I look like someone I don't know as well as I used to, and I think that's kind of . . . weird. But actually cool.
