Nostalchic, Lapalux (2013)

Lapalux’s full-length debut is rich and well-produced electronic music, with nothing exhilarating but nothing too objectionable either. A plethora of well-placed samples are arranged in a slightly wonky, mostly house style and brought together with rich but typical production that gives the entire record a futuristic sheen. Nostalchic isn’t a vital listen for any genre and certainly doesn’t threaten to push any boundaries, but will make for good listening for fans of Brainfeeder’s usual atmospheric, layered electronic music.
