A House Full of Plants

I grew in a house with every room filled with indoor potted plants, they filled every nook and cranny, and every surface there was available. Our gardens were full of flowers and vegetation, creating a flourishing space that served us food.

My mother took so much pride and care in gardening. Within her friend group, she is known as the friend with a house full of plants, and a backyard full of color. Selling plants on Facebook Marketplace, she transformed her hobby into a side hustle for pocket money. 

Eventually, I began to continue in her steps. During and towards the end of the pandemic, I continued to take up the hobby gardening more seriously. Going from 1-2 plants, it went to filling up my room with them. Every corner, every shelf, even the ceiling had plants. 

I began to create a more comfortable space in my room through the collection of plants. This had created a safe space for me through the collection of plants. This space I had created helped me during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was a way to cope and gave me a hobby and comforting feeling.
