#not bacteria

I'm torn between not including too much information about specific bacteria in the phylum round because I don't want to "spoil" the later rounds...

...Or including as much information as possible, because damn it, over a dozen of these phyla won't even make it past round one, and they deserve their time in the spotlight!

Oh, I'm not a microbiologist by the way, just a big fan. My main experience with bacteria right now is from an interest in medicine and the history of life, so if you're a microbiologist and you want to add something or correct any of my posts: please!

One reason why I'm even doing the info posts before the bacteria tournament is to solidify my own knowledge of the field, as well as communicate that to others. I like to think that my standards of research are such that this blog will be reliable, but everyone is fallible, so corrections and additions more than welcome.

GAH i'm getting so attached to so many of these phyla during my research i'm gonna be so sad to see all but one of them get eliminated...

The fact that the doctor gave Jackson an antibiotic for aconite poisoning still just makes me….*HEAD DESK*.

Poisoning does not = infection. Why the writers of this show can't check basic medical facts just boggles my mind.
