I'd love to go to seattle someday, what would you recommend someone do/see while there?
I was born and raised and have lived the vast majority of my life in Washington State, so I will preface this by saying that I don't really like hanging out in Seattle, and I find our big tourist attractions really overrated. Seattle has changed a lot (THANKS A LOT, tech industry) so a lot of my suggestions are p casual/lowkey:
5th Avenue Theatre is gorgeous
Paramount Theatre is gorgeous and a sentimental place for me
Elliott Bay Book Company is probably my favorite bookstore
NW African American Museum
Volunteer Park Conservatory
T-Mobile Park (to see the boys, of course)
Pike Place Market is a fun stroll but can get too crowded for my taste
Eat some burgers and fries at Dick's Drive-In
Eat some ice cream at Molly Moon
The Space Needle and MoPop are completely skippable, imho
Seattle Aquarium is small and depressing, don't go
If you get a car and don't mind a roadtrip outside Seattle, I'd head west to check out the Olympic Peninsula. Ruby Beach, the Hoh Rainforest, Olympic National Park, the hilarious and depressing Twilight marketing antic of Forks, etc.
Or you can head south and check out Tahoma (Mount Rainier National Park). 🥰
