I saw some rather interesting meta on the HS reddit - that the reason he is such fucking prick is that, on the whole, his Ultimate Self (which claims to have become) comprises a whole shitton of Shitty Dirks, that didn’t have the specific sequence of events that lead to the decidedly good, selfless Dirk that was present in the Homestuck endgame sequence.
