Things that aren't Pokémon yet and I really want them to be
I used this as reference for what isn't a Pokémon yet btw
Swordfish. It's a fish with a big, pointy nose! Make it Water/Steel!
Dumbo octopus. Only gained popularity in recent years, but they're so darn cute! Their little head flaps look like ears or wings, which is how they got their name!
Manatee. Big, peaceful sea cow pals. I love them. Water/Normal?
Harp seal. Specifically baby harp seals. Did anyone else watch Seabert as a kid?
Platypus. It's too ridiculous to not be a Pokémon.
Chihuahua. It would be cool if they referenced their reputation for being brave and aggressive by making it Fighting or even Dark type. Plus the exaggerated body proportions could make it fun!
Snow leopard. Could be a Liepard variation? Obviously Ice type.
Capybara. They're nature's perfect friend! Could be Water/Normal as well.
Aye-Aye. Known for their extremely unique appearance, and old legends linked them to witches and curses bc people were afraid of them. Could be Dark type.
Possum. Famous for their ability to play dead and immunity to snake venom. What a combo!
Peacock. How isn't this a Pokémon yet? They're iconic!
Komodo Dragon. I know the toxic saliva isn't real, but still. Badass.
Fire-bellied Toad. Possible Fire/Water Pokémon?
Crab Grass & Crab Apple. Could be a pun-based evolution line where it's literally a grass-covered crab and a crab shaped like an apple.
Ankylosaur. Awesome dinosaur with a mace for a tail? Yes, please!
Tasmanian Tiger, aka Thylacine. My favorite animal, even though they're extinct. And that nearly 180 degree mouth gape? Amazing.
Hot dog/Dachshund pun. Look, I....I like puns. And also grew up watching Oswald.
Russian Nesting Dolls. It's a Pokémon within a Pokémon within a Pokémon!
Flying pig. It's time for pigs to fly.
Past/Present/Future. Maybe a Legendary trio? Could be Ghost types.
Space Whale. BEST aesthetic.
Bigfoot. Him feet too big for he gotdam him.
Jackalope. They're so weird, they need to be a Pokémon!
La Chupacabra. Cool as heck.
Pegasus. I rly wanted this to be a variant or Mega for Rapidash, but even as it's own Pokémon it would be great.
Sandman. You know, the spirit that put the sleepy gunk in your eyes? Could be Ground/Fairy.
Leprechaun. Could be a special, rare encounter Pokémon that drops money if you defeat or catch them, like how Audino gave extra EXP.
Vampire. We have vampire bat Pokémon, why not a straight-up vampire?
I tried to pick only 1 per category/sub category, otherwise this would be super long. Also I'm not familiar with all the folklore and mythology suggestions on the original list. What are some things you guys want to see as Pokémon?
