my biggest art problem as someone who studies medieval irish history and also draws art inspired by medieval irish literature is that i can never know enough. i’ve read multiple academic papers trying to figure out what a king’s ráth (or ringfort) would’ve looked like around the time that the ulster cycle takes place and compiled like a dozen theoretical drawings and schematics and i’m still like. but what if im wrong. what if i miss a crucial detail. i have to constantly remind myself that there are people who know far less than me confidently making art of similar things and it’s literally fine it doesn’t matter my lecturers aren’t going to find my tumblr (actually that part is possible at least one of them is on here somewhere) and tear me to shreds for making a decorative arched door when it should be square or some shit. i have Got to calm down
