in high school i was an a-to-c range student, “grades don’t matter too much, who cares as long as you pass” type of guy but i recently found out i’ve had a first class honors for my whole college career (hadn’t bothered to check) and got asked to do some work for my department as a third year (the job is usually done by postgrads) and suddenly it does in fact feel like a big deal. academic version of accidentally becoming important at ur job
