I don’t like when someone insist I need to get over my driving anxiety or that because I do not drive (and have absolutely no desire to drive) that I’m not gonna live a fulfilling life. I think this mindset is very American as most other places have decent public transportation, as well as walkable communities.
It’s a major reason why my partner and I are looking for a studio apartment in another city, rather than a cheaper place outside the city. Though we may spend an extra $150 a month on rent, we save twice that by not needing a second vehicle (no extra car payment, insurance, gas or maintenance). Plus, I’ve really been wanting to get a bike for a long time now and living in the city is a perfect reason to buy one :)

Sometimes, when I'm heading to work at night, I feel like I'm in a Studio Ghibli movie. I always feel so calm during this part of the drive.
