PJ (If you know him) which of your parents is your favorite?
(Unfortunately, Paperjam is still too young to really answer questions… if he could, the answer would be Error simply because he doesn’t know Ink.)
To explain:
The way ship children work is that when a monster’s magic comes into contact with another monster’s magic, it may deem the other’s magic compatible with its own. Typically, this will be a strong and independent monster with the ability to conceive, though exceptions can be made; monsters do not conceive using sexual reproduction if they have no parts to do so and instead will rely on magic. For skeletons, this means that one of them could “get pregnant” (not exactly how it works that would be a little strange) during a fight- thus, most of the ship children are accidents LMFAOOO. PJ is no exception. He was conceived from raw magic during a particularly intense battle, formed in Error’s soul, and just kinda. popped into existence later on. Error was mostly surprised that he’s ABLE to have a kid, with his fucked up magic, but he’s less than a fantastic father.
Btw, siblings and other family members cannot have kids from fighting and kids between monster species are impossible. Also there are ways to prevent or terminate a soulling, Error just. Didn’t notice.
Anyway, in this timeline, PJ is still quite young. He’s also autistic and so while he can generally function on his own he can’t speak.

PJ and Gradient both latched on to fresh like parasites (ironic) and he let them so they’re family now. Ink and Error are both deadbeats, Error because he didn’t want kids and is in jail anyways (Gradient could be useful to him though) and Ink because he keeps forgetting where he left the damn things and fresh keeps swooping in to take them before/if he remembers they exist.
PJ (He/They) hates both his parents. Error could give less of a shit and Ink still thinks they’re chill and can’t take a hint.
Gradient is scared of Error. But he thinks of Ink as a weird friend, and Ink thinks the same about him. They’re chill, and it pisses PJ and Fresh off to no end.
Fresh is just annoyed at the terrible parenting and child abandonment.
Error and Ink are not together. PJ and Gradie are both results of fights the two of them had before their truce. They hate each other (usually) and i dont ship them i dont like errorink
