Warding off the depression one 6 pm sauce cup full of semi-sweet chocolate chips at a time
I finished my Masters today. I’m quite happy. I went from failing over and over for 8 years to getting Cs and Ds (in my undergrad) to getting As and Bs in my Masters. You can have ADHD and get bad grades. You can have ADHD and be an overachiever. You can also go from failing to being an overachiever. ...
However, I can’t deny my privilege of having parents who were able to financially support me during the times I was struggling. A lot of ADHDers wouldn’t have that.
I also lived in Ireland where university was almost free or that would have been impossible too.
...
However however, I was diagnosed only after I got to university. Had I been diagnosed and gotten treatment/ help early, I might have been able to skip the repeated failing. In conclusion, having ADHD doesn’t mean we can’t do well academically. Simultaneously, early intervention and diagnosis can save lives.
Just got one of three mock English results back, if I keep up my score I won’t fail!!!!!!
Fuck yehhhhhhhh
I solemnly vow to study when I can calm, and make my priority to enjoy this.
“If you don’t lock in energy second you’ll fail—“
Hoe, locking in energy second is what kicks my ass. Ironically I was doing a lot better when I let myself write until 8pm then only start studying then, and letting myself move work without guilt.
I shall only study when I want to, but when I want to, I WILL LOCK TF IN.
Forcing myself to study? Only gain stress.
Study when I wish to? I suddenly gain the ability to lock in without stress and actually memorize shit.
I’m better at studying now. I just have to do it when my mind isn’t fucking me upside the head.
ok I really need to start getting back to chirai focus mode. If I really do want to make some difference in academics this sem, I need to be changing my habits and that includes my chill studying habit. Time is more or less fine and doable, what isn't is my willingness/laziness. And that I can only deal with if I set myself to deal with and I know I can, I just have to. I need to put in effort and go out of the comfort zone of relax studying but if I want things to change for the better, I must be doing so. And alright, much yap, chirai, let's fucking go.
I have a 'C' in 'Spanish' class (74)
Up until a week go I was failing (69(nice)) I was sick and miss a few quizzes. I was unable to do them because I have terrible social anxiety and can't work up the cerage to speak with her. She knew I was "shy" only talking to the two people I have known all year, she wouldn't give dates to come in early to take them. I took some anti-droxizen with me if I had panic attack, I didn't need to use them, and yea I now am in a solid 'C' territory. The reason why it's so low is because I can barely speak/read/spell English and adding another language is not helping.
Well, that's new
I opened and closed karate class today. Didn't die. Even managed to avoid completely screwing up.
