Hi from hell!
GOOF: When will it be daytime again? ME, INTERNALLY: I have no fucking idea and have been refreshing my phone all day and it keeps changing and nobody knows. This is the reality of an unchecked climate apocalypse. We’re living in a real-life Lorax situation and you, my sweet angel child who only eats butter noodles, are going to have to un-fuck this and save humanity. ME: Soon! Very soon.
After I posted that bad take and got corrected, I gained a not-insignificant amount of followers. If you ever wanted to know why people randomly drop what they're doing and become full-time discourse blogs, this would be it.
Anyway I'm just here for the memes so let's forget all that and get back to our regularly scheduled shitposts, shall we?
If you’re saying that jokes about slavery are the kind of thing that slip out of your mouth when you’re tired, you’re implying that you still think they’re ‘jokes’ and just holding yourself back at other times. Highly reccomend going to therapy and working through your internalized racism. If you joke about slavery, especially at the expense of a black person, you any and all social backlash that comes your way. Sincerely hope you get help, and learn to keep your asinine opinions to yourself.
It's mainly that it's not the kind of thing that occurs to me as offensive because I'm not part of the people affected by it. It's always more personal to the demographic impacted by it, by virtue of, well, what it is. Reasonable people don't go around wanting to make racist jokes for the purpose of being racist, they do it because the topic hasn't occurred to them to be off the table. If I were Irish and someone joked about the British wanting me dead, I'd obviously be offended, but to someone not linked to that event the words don't carry the same impact.
That's why I stressed the importance of letting them know that what they did was wrong, because assuming they should already know is the key to someone never changing. Never assume malice when ignorance is more reasonable.
EDIT: I've just been informed that I missed the fact that the offender is her supervisor. That very much changes things, so I retract my previous statement.

Hi followers and visitors! This is just a housekeeping note to say this is my very niche art-process blog and if you followed me because of my c-drama/the untamed/guardian stuff, that is all on my sideblog, http://canary3d-obsessed.tumblr.com so maybe follow that instead/too ?
