speaking as a writer myself and a fan:
sometimes it feels like davis and reed come up with the first draft of a character/arc and then immediately go for it without expanding the concept at all
which isn't a bad thing per say but it denies your story the chance for more depth and points of interest, which is a disservice to your lore and to yourself as a writer. your art is an extension of your self and by letting your stories remain (for lack of a better term) "simple" you're undermining other people's (and your) ability to recognize your skill and be invested in your work
davis and reed have both shown they have the capability to be excellent writers and i'm not doubting their abilities, and i understand that tsams is much less important to them as it was before, but i think current tsams is underwritten at best and extremely boring at worst. old tsams had a soul, it had charm, it felt like these people actually wanted to make something, and that's gone now.
maybe take inspiration from your frickin fanbase that's been devoted to you for the past 4.5 years instead of disregarding all their completely valid opinions because "you owe them nothing"
makes sense in the end but catch me mid-read looking like I’m solving advanced physics with one braincell
when i'm tryna get big as a girlblogger but my blog theme isn't lana del rey soft older men do it better baby deer pretty angel princess niche cinnamon girl so i just give up
