Why does Sun's supposed ugliness need to be a joke/conversation topic that's brought up so frequently? Hm? Why is it so funny, or worth mentioning as often as it is?
It's not funny. It's getting old, and it's mean, and it rubs me the wrong way. It's rubbed me the wrong way for a while, but I haven't seen it be something that gets talked about too much
First of all, this is not a good time to be calling Sun ugly. Not after he lost his rays and probably already feels bad about himself and his appearance
Second, who's laughing when these comments are made? I don't see anyone in the comment section so far, going "LMAO UGLY SUN JDJDJSJ"
Third...... With all the respect in the world, the bit is old. It's been run into the ground. The VAs killed it. It would've been a little funny if they did it maybe a few times (at the right moment) and then stopped. But no, it's been done probably more than a dozen times, at this point
Fourth, I know it's not the VAs problem, and that kids are stupid, but a lot of the audience for these shows is made up of kids and younger teens, I think. I know there are older fans too, but the younger ones seem to be the majority. If they're not mentally mature, or are in that phase where they copy people they like and admire, they're going to start calling people they know ugly and assuming it's a joke. It's not though, it's mean and rude. If you're not in on it, that can be very hurtful
Legitimately, the ugly jokes and comments being directed at Sun need to stop. If they NEED to be made, have them be directed at someone else for a while, but preferably, don't make those comments at all. We need to stop making jokes and comments about people's appearances that are blatantly hurtful and mean. It's not cool, and the only people who laugh at that have something wrong with them
It's fine to critique a character's design and give your honest thoughts about it. I'm not saying everybody should be barred from talking about character designs that don't quite match their taste or style. What I'm talking about is in the shows, from one character to another, calling each other ugly
Sun's not an angel, I know he's made his fair share of not-nice comments at other people too, but still. A lot of the meanness seems to be directed at him, even when he's done nothing to deserve or prompt it. Sometimes all he does is exist, and people choose to be mean
.....I know the characters aren't real. I know nothing about the shows are real. I'm aware that dark humor is a thing that exists, and that what's funny to me might not be funny to someone else
I'm trying not to take anything too seriously, I really am, but..... idk. A lot of it has been less fun for me to watch lately. I miss the old SAMS, and the old LAES, where the comedy was actual comedy, and not just blatant bullying
