This might be an odd question but do you guys have tips on how to edit? I really wanna make Jellywalker edits but I struggle with paint. net but that's the best I have

Mod Ziron/Tuscan here. I am not the most qualified person to ask, and if Mod Berry wants to add or edit anything I’m sure they’ll do so.

I personally can say that Paint.Net is not the best option, and since I don’t use it, I am unable to give a step-by-step process. Sprite edits for me are typically made in programs that are meant for illustration and not photo editing.

Either way, I typically find the sprite I want and resize it. A lot of people I know use a site called Waifu2x to resize images to make them bigger. I use a discord bot to do such, so there are multiple ways of doing this.

I then sketch and redraw said sprite with the modifications I have in mind. This consists of using multiple layers and using the color picker to get line art colors. Other people just draw their edits over the enlarged sprite. It really comes down to personal preference and what the editor thinks will look good.

Keep in mind, practice makes perfect. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.
