Hi! I found this little guy in a pot in Kentucky. Isn't he cute!

A very cute little liverwort, i.e. not a lichen, but I love that I got to see him because omg what a perfect angel.

Whoa, that's a lot of good fungus. None of them lichens, but still very good. The top 2 pictures look like a tiny Schizophyllum, and the rest are various crust polypores. As mentioned in my previous Ask, I recommend uploading these to iNaturalist! It can help with ID, and help other folks in your area recognize these species when they come across them. Also I love the pubby in the background who is also very interested in the stick. Tell them they are doing a good job, from me.

I have had a few folks asking if I am alive and I think I am, for all intents and purposes. Just exhausted from field work and travel and stress, and am taking some time to recover. Think of me as a lichen in a desiccated, inactive state--not dead, but waiting for the optimal conditions to become active again.

I love when you spot lichen in photos with other things in them. curing plant* blindness!!

Thank you!!!! That is the main intention with this blog rather than specific lichen posts but theyre harder to find and I dont have that much time to scour the dregs of tumblr :/

I'm currently doing a whole lot of very important exams so I'm not able to be online so much, so there's going to be fewer/less frequent/no posts until the end of June. I'll be back in full force after then!
