The bicycle helmets (poetry)

In Japan, from April 2023

for all cyclists

wearing a helmet

made an effort.

Surely it protects the head

It's safe, but I don't wear it because it's not mandatory.

Yesterday, when I saw public high school students,

All were wearing helmets. obedient. Strange.

A helmet that costs about $40

It must have been bought for the school,

Japanese people who adapt their behavior to what others are doing,

I think I've seen some not-so-good traits.

自転車に乗る者すべてに

ヘルメット着用が

努力義務化された。

確かにそれは頭部を守って

安全だが、義務ではないので私は着用しない。

昨日、地元の公立高校生を見たら、

全員ヘルメットを着用していた。従順。異様。

おおかた４０ドルはするヘルメットを

学校に買わされたのだろうが、

他人のすることに自分の行動を合わせる日本人、

あまり良くない特質を見たように思う。
