So for my film class I have to do a comparative study on 2 films of the same genre that were made 20 years apart or in two separate countries

I've been trying to figure out which films to use and landed on I Saw The Tv Glow and Dead Poets Society cause they're both such beautifully tragic coming of age films that explore conformity and escapism and authenticity in such similar but vastly different ways

Sounds perfect right? Match made in heaven? WRONG

I CANT USE DEAD POETS SOCIETY FOR MY COMPARITIVE STUDY BECAUSE WEVE USED THAT MOVIE FOR OTHER ASSIGNMENTS!!!!!

Anyways if anyone could recommend any other films that could go w/ I Saw The Tv Glow that came out 20+ years before it or in another country I would greatly appreciate it

Hey all!

Cyrus here. I know i've been gone for some time and that is largely because I have been very preoccupied with IRL things. They take up most of my time and energy which is why I simply (and perhaps regrettably) don't have much of either to contribute here. I drew Matt from in the flesh because I'm mildly obsessed and I have an in the flesh rewrite that I was re reading because I love it a little too much. My roommate walked in on me drawing it and informed me I was participating in a fetish. Its amazing it took me this long to realize this is me having a fetish in the most ace and autistic way possible, lmao. ... also here one without clothes cus I was too proud of my KILLER proportions. GENUINELY this is the most technically skilled thing I've ever drawn and I'm so mad about it

Somebody needs to make a Vewn lore video. There are so interconnected parts and  reoccurring characters and themes. It has to mean something but I don’t have coherence left to tell what it is .

Hey! I was wondering if you had thoughts on wendigoon? I have been watching his videos lately and he mentioned matpat in his fnaf episode (I found out later after trying to watch the video that fnaf's creator is transphobic). So, transphobic references x2. I am basically on the fence about wendigoon bc he hasn't said anything specifically on the other videos I've seen... idk I was wondering if you had thoughts on this. well... i don't watch him. so i don't have much or any comment on his work or videos. but i'd probably start with the name/branding he has going on. He profits off of indigenous culture/folklore by selling plushes of the creature in its image. The creature is used to represent (from what i've been told) native americans being displaced and their people being horribly mistreated by colonizers. It's representitve of trauma. Knowing what i know from natives in this community and outside of it, it feels extra gross and anti-indigenous, what he's doing.

Also turning a creature from indigenous folklore into a 'quirky username' is kind of 😬😬

i would not really suggest him as a content creator to watch
