i am utterly enamoured with how scar's been depicted in docs most recent video
like. the video starts, and 3 minutes in doc just hears 'woop woop its the sound of the poe poe' from that obnoxious horn
he goes to investigate, only to see scar gracefully riding towards his shop on a pig, going incredibly slowly of course
scar drops off his pig in the dressing room of the shop, reminiscing over his 'mall patrol days' (nonexistant), but because he's still holding his carrot on a stick, the pig follows him out the dressing room to stand incredibly close next to him
doc then proceeds to tell scar why he's no longer a suspect- accidentally insulting him in the process (he cites 'they wrote on a sign but mixed up 'there' and 'they are', so i thought it was you because you were dyslexic' as if thats not a mistake many people make, regardless of if theyre dyslexic or not)
then scar goes 'of course im innocent!! why else would i wear a hat like this' and shows doc his absolutely, comedically enormous hat (its bigger than the pig when hes not wearing it)
all the while, doc's having a crisis because this 'ore snatcher' (note: said ore snatcher had stolen 4 diamond ore blocks as far as doc had known. just 4) was evading him so effectively and he has no idea who it is.
so just. doc having a crisis so severe over his four (4) missing diamond ore blocks that he calls upon cryptid police officer scar- who just happens to be the one other person whos been dealing with 'ore snatcher' problems.
,,just that scar's managed to lose much more ore than doc has.
My parallels are: Megatronus=Optimus, Solus=Elita One, Prima=Megatron
Why? In the Aligned Continuity Prima can't stand Megatronus but talks a lot about him (Megatron can't stand Optimus but talks a lot about him like in Prime and G1); Solus is dead because of the fights between the other Primes and Liege Maximo's lies (Elita One is dead in most continuites like in Prime or Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy because of the war); Optimus Prime becoming Nemesis Prime and working for Unicron like in Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy reflects a lot Megatronus Prime becoming The Fallen and working for Unicron.
Plus Solus Prime and Elita One deserves to beat these four "I don't know how to talk to that bot".

This is part of a answer to a comment from my fic 'Together in the silence' (https://archiveofourown.org/works/88049861).
I wish I could answer all of these with "HE'S THE GOAT", because he's the GOAT.
I have a very specific characterization of him, but I know what I'm doing; do not fret.
off the top of your head: notes for characterization? what are the most essential traits of this character to you (personality traits, important connections/dynamics, voice)?
I think the main thing I associate with him and the main thing that made me gas him up like I do is his diligence. In each and every scene he has in the Generation One cartoon, he's doing his fucking job, making a decision in battle, or putting some sense in the people around him.
Like, in the episode "Autobot Run," where Long Haul is whining about not going into battle, and he tells him the machine they're building will destroy the Autobots, as in, they should focus on their work, and they'll reap the benefits of it. Or in "The Secret of Omega Supreme," where he's the one to do the battle call and decides they should combine so they'll be able to stand against OS. Hell, even in the '86 movie, he's the one who decides that the Decepticons who aren't damaged are the ones who should be allowed to stay inside Astrotrain, culminating in the sacrifice of the damaged (weak) Decepticons.
I already said it before, but I don't care about Bleszinski's Bonecrusher or similar interpretations. He loves destruction, but his destruction isn't chaotic or senseless; it's his art. When you forget that, you forget half of his character.
In essence, he should be stoic, diligent, and goal-focused. AND, all of this (+ his wild, destructive ways) should be the fruit of his blinding perfectionism. Even the way he treats his team is influenced by this; he doesn't have time for sappiness or emotions.
Long time ago, I made a post about him. I still think it sort of holds up, and it has photos to support my arguments.
As for his voice, look, this'll sound crazy, but his ideal voice for me is the one from the first Brazilian dub of the '86 movie. I just love how hollow and... Normal he sounds! I don't personally see him with a deep, hoarse voice as many people do; it makes him feel way too brutish in ways I don't care for. He's a brute, yes, but a respectable brute. 💪🧐
adjacently—do you think fandom does the above traits justice? why or why not?
Well... I'll be curt. I do not like seeing him portrayed as your average bully or meatheaded 'Con. And least of all, I do not like seeing him or any Constructicon being called a... *shivers*
Himbo
Either way, there is canon material to support this interpretation (his tech specs, for one). So what can I say against it?
throw this character at any other character of your choice to bounce off each other as outsider pov to each other— regardless of timeline or logistics (crossovers allowed if you're interesting about it). why this combination? what insights would they have on each other?
Frankly, I want to see him with his brother, Gravedigger, but explaining what I think about them would require a ridiculous amount of text, jumping through hoops, and just HCs. Besides, I'll get there when I get there in my own fan cont.
Now, my actual answer is 100% self-indulgent and the equivalent of those JJK edits with AI-generated phonk. But I'd love to see Bonecrusher, as I interpret him, fight with Marvel Blaster. Just the coolest, most blunt aurafarmers of both factions. Their battle would be legendary. (Also, in my HC, Gravedigger is dead... so they could power scale their grief 😲).
how do you think you would react to this character in real life and vice versa? would you prefer be a million miles out of range, be amicable classmates, or fall desperately in love? (bonus: arrange a hypothetical date between yourself and this character. getting silly with it is encouraged (fakedate them! escape a dinner date through a bathroom window!))
@/sparkarrestor put it best ❤️.
ideal flavor of rotating for this character? crack them open and dissect them— do you want them tormented, pining, or being loved + comforted? do you have any specific scenarios you like to think about?
Bonecrusher was made to suffer. I need to put him through the torment nexus. He's one of the few Constructicons whose suffering is not comedic but pure angst instead (he's so dramatic). Even when he's being comforted, he's feeling unworthy or unfit.
weave a web of dynamics through the cast for this character: which dynamics are you most interested in? both canonically and through extrapolation/speculation— which dynamics are the richest to you, and why?
Again. The Constructicons. All of them. No exceptions or favoritism. He wants to defend these guys and be their rock. (no homo... maybe just a bit).
I also like pairing him with the average 'Con brutes. Like Blitzwing or Brawl. I enjoy highlighting how different from them he is and how ashamed he would be to be put in the same basket as the guys who take part in meaningless destruction. [picture him scoffing at their methods]
do you have particular niche takes on this character? defend those takes. (openly controversial takes are permitted, but also: hyper-specific headcanons which you believe in and no one else has considered enough to disagree with yet. pick a hill to die on.)
All of my takes are niche. But I am correct in ways I want to be correct in. Gettit?
I like my Bonecrusher to have knightly attributes (you heard me). Yeah, he'll open your cranium up, but only if you're in a duel to the death, bro. This isn't a big joke to him; fighting and demolishing are his craft; he takes pleasure in doing a perfect job and cleansing the world of its failures.
He's composed, but his anger issues make him lose control, and he's embarrassed by it because a berserker isn't able to achieve perfection in the way that he wishes to (he's oblivious to the fact that his perfectionism causes most of his issues).
All that to say, that my most niche take is that he's the Greatest Of All fucking Time. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
