Cuddling. don’t mind the claws of the beast
Happy Pride to everyone but especially to Arthur and Bert, my interspecies gay finches who are in love and are incubating... something?... in their nest??
When my zebra finch Arthur lost his elderly husband Bruce last December (at eleven years old, which is positively ancient for a zebra finch!), I was really worried that Arthur would have a hard time finding love again. Thankfully, my local bird shop guy had a gay male shaft-tailed finch he was having a hard time pairing AND who was from an aviary that co-housed zebra finches, so that worked out perfectly! After a brief introduction period these two started courting and they are now married and very, very happy together.
Love wins!
I've had this girl for about a week but held off on sharing her as she was rescued from a building that had ant poisoning treatment done. Normally wolf spiders are fast and hide, but she was not doing well at all, and didn't even try to run when caught standing in the middle of a hallway.
I gave her a wax worm in hope she'd eat it and pass the poisoned ants out of her body.
She slowly tapped it with a leg and just stared at it before hiding in one of the caves I'd provided.
Good morning!
The next morning she was doing better and had begun eating one of the wax worms!
I've decided to name her The Gloink Queen. C:
Oto, you are fish, why you perch like bird?
I JUST realized why playing DA: V felt off to me! (For context, I did like Veilguard. Not as much as the other games but I did enjoy it! Remember, you can like something and still have criticisms for it!) So in every other dragon age game, I completed companion quests because I loved the companions and wanted to help them/get to know their past. There was one or two in each game I never got to their quests, because I wasn't as attached to them as I was the others. There was no 'punishment' for not doing it. To me, that feels realistic because no one gets along with everyone, it makes sense to have companions that are more acquaintances than besties. In The Veilguard you are -constantly- told or hinted at that if you don't do the companion quests, you can't get the 'good' ending. So it feels like an obligation to do companion quests, instead of a want. A game shouldn't have to tell you to do quests, you should want to do quests because the game itself is fun. The constant "You should -really- do your companion quests and the faction quests. Who knows what'll happen if you don't! Probably something bad o.o" Was.. disheartening. I kind of also disliked that the companions all liked you, nearly no matter what. You didn't really have to work for it, which felt unauthentic to me. I have a memory of playing Inquisition, accidentally neglecting to talk to Blackwall, and him hating me when we got to Skyhold so I had to work to get him to like me. All we got in Veilguard was a bit of grump depending on what city we saved, and Harding just. Being grumpy as part of her quest. As much as I had fun playing, Veilguard had a lot they could have done differently to make the game feel more authentic and RPG-like instead of feeling linear. (I also HATE what they did with Solas' character, but that's another story)
do any of yall have mechanical keyboard cap recommendations? i type for a living so i prefer the lettering to be on the inside (or unable to be worn off, whatever the terminology is)
i got these backlit ones like a year ago which were ok until they started splitting themselves in half like this and now it happens pretty frequently. this is annoying as shit when im on emails, but they're talking about putting me back on live queues so id rather not be midsentence with a real person and have my key just shoot into space
i would prefer my keyboard lights to poke through because it brings me joy. rlly i just want a version of these keys that are solid somehow. any thoughts?
If you guys could periodically send me images of snakes that'd do wonders for my enrichment levels
