I've had this girl for about a week but held off on sharing her as she was rescued from a building that had ant poisoning treatment done. Normally wolf spiders are fast and hide, but she was not doing well at all, and didn't even try to run when caught standing in the middle of a hallway.

I gave her a wax worm in hope she'd eat it and pass the poisoned ants out of her body.

She slowly tapped it with a leg and just stared at it before hiding in one of the caves I'd provided.

The next morning she was doing better and had begun eating one of the wax worms!

I've decided to name her The Gloink Queen. C:

How did you convince The Gloink Queen to abandon her corn children? Did she just figure it out on her own eventually?

"Motherhood is confusing and difficult."

I kept her egg ball right next to her favorite den, and she figured it out in just under a day. The corn was freeze dried (like the kind you get with a salad) and I'm guessing that the humidity from her enclosure might have changed it from a light fluffy thing to a moist weird smelling thing.

Essentially the equivalent of the child mannequin she stole from the clothing store turned into a pumpkin after midnight and she reconsidered her life choices.

Update photos of the Gloink Queen, again properly caring for her actual children. I've been told the egg ball is getting bigger as the babies inside grow, but I'm choosing to believe she plays Katamari with it when I'm not looking.
