Man, after seeing Conclave (excellent film) - the film's narrative framework is how would a live-action Triangle Strategy TV show should be like: uncovering secrets, conversations and plotting in discreet spaces.
Plus, how Cardinal Lawrence is burdened with responsibilities and goes out of his way to make hard choices is masterfully portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, IMO, his performance is close to how Benedict would be depicted in live-action.
Ooooooh I haven't watched Conclave yet but that DOES sound like a great film. I would kill for a Triangle Strategy TV show in any case lol, but I do really like the idea of it being centered around the political intrigue in the game vs. it being a more standard action/fantasy genre, that would be super fun
#asks#triangle strategy#not ts notes#not that I would COMPLAIN about an action/fantasy tristrat movie (square enix if you're listening !!!!)#but I definitely do love a good political thriller <3#I watched 'nirvana in fire' a while back with my sister which I also really enjoyed#it's definitely not the exact same as tri strat (it's a c drama so the setting is pretty different)#but it's got a lot of similar vibes re feudalism and court conflicts#tri strat analogy is that it's kinda like if gustadolph never started the war#but maxwell was like 'you know what I think roland really should be king'#so he started pulling strings + slowly but surely tearing apart the royalist system to make sure that happened#the show's got a slow start but it's sooooo good#still rotating the ending around in my head months later#I for sure will have to check out conclave some time tho it sounds right up my alley#(ALSO sorry it took me a hot second to answer this ask!!! I saw it and immediately went 'oh I should go watch conclave right now!!!')#(and then promptly got distracted and forgot to watch conclave and also to answer this ask. per usual)#(hitting post RIGHT NOW so that I don't leave it sitting for another week lol)
