the phandom is terrible. like, recently, dan came out to talk about his depression, and loads of the phandom were like 'haha, called it, i've been writing about his depression even before he said it', like can you try not to be disgusting for ten seconds please?

because there was no romance build up to korrissmi & even at the end they only held hands. it's just speculation gay not in canon gay honestly.

Okay, I think MANY viewers had the wrong assumption when watching LoK. 

First of all, as much as we want the world to be more open-minded, that isn’t who is in control of censorship. LoK was shown on a cartoon channel meant for children. Yes, I get tired of the “protect the children!!!!” too. But, the ones making marketing decisions are of that mindset. 

Second of all, there is more than JUST the American audience they have to appeal to. If you thought Americans were conservative, then try Chinese markets. Honestly, many companies bank MORE on the growing middle class in China than other international sources. This has been especially true for Hollywood movies. China happens to be quite conservative. Anything too overt, and they lose that market. The Philippines also gets MANY cartoons imported. They too are very conservative. 

Third, there WAS build up. It wasn’t overt build-up, it was all subtle for the reasons listed above. Pay close attention in Seasons 3 and 4. It’s the small things, but they are there. “I’m always here for you” line from As@mi. K0rra only wrote to As@mi even though it would be assumed she had a closer relationship with Bol!n and M@ko. That blush K0rra gives when As@mi compliments her hair. It’s clear they have chemistry. It’s not smack you in your face, but it is there.

Unfortunately, the world isn’t all one open-minded culture. Many people who complain about representation need to understand that. You aren’t going to change all of the cultures at once to be as open-minded and accepting as you. You also shouldn’t expect other cultures to cater to your mindset.

jeeeez i remember when i was a part of the phandom. i shipped dan and phil (obviously i know now that was Super Weird and Not Ok) and was like incredibly dedicated to them. the entire ~phandom~ is honestly sooo bad and idk why i ever was a part of it

every time i hear horror stories about the phandom i get more and more grateful that i was never able to keep up with youtubers

ik the st@rco discourse on this blog stopped being discussed a little while ago but marco de-aged? he de-aged physically, and since the brain is a physical organ, we can assume he de-aged mentally as well. not to mention his previous adult self and current child self act like two wildly different people

As much as I hate St@rco, I want them to become endgame already just to get it over with. It's obvious they both like each other, it's obvious the writers are setting them up, and it's obvious they'll be canon at some point, so it's best to just let them date already rather than have them bounce back and fourth from one love interest to another for the sake of romantic drama. The "will-they-or-won't-they" trope has been dragging on for too long and it's both annoying and exhausting.

Wait I’m rlly confused abt why genderbend are bad? Like the way I️ see it, if u head canon a character as trans, they’ll still be trans, just identifying w the opposite gender? And no binary and genderqueer people would stay the same, the only thing I️ really see problematic w genderbend is when the female version is super sexualized. I️ don’t mean this to come off as rude in any way, I’m just a little confused! (Also just wanted to add I️ love this blog)
