I think L@nce acted overprotective of al/ura because he doesn’t really know m@tt, even though that’s p/dge’s brother, it’s still not someone l@nce is familiar with.
honestly I think you’re right? Lance hasn’t flirted at all with Allura, for two seasons now, and it’s clear from the end of season 4 and a few moments in season 3 that he has a huge amount of respect for her. We haven’t seen Lance show any romantic interest in Allura in a long time.
also, the scene itself didn’t play out how it usually does when Lance gets jealous. we’ve seen Lance get jealous, he doesn’t just look irritated and get over it right away. he’s vocal about it, he asks questions, he tries to one up his rival.
I think Lance has moved past seeing Allura as someone to woo and now it’s bothering him to see someone else treat her that way. Perhaps in part because it reminds him of his own past behavior. Most likely because he’s come to see Allura as family.
