Hola Freshy, how are you doing? Better I hope. I was wondering if you had any headcanons about how you think Becca was like in High School? Like activities, how she acted, who she hung out with, etc.? (p.s. thanks for taking the time to read this)
Hey Anon, I am good.Hope you are too. And thank you for sending me this ask!
Well, I can’t rememberwhat chapter of what book this was specifically, so don’t quote me on this. I rememberBecca saying that in high school at least, she was a bit of a loner, struggledto get out of her shell and never really made any proper friends. Think itcomes from her saying Madison is the first proper friend she made when rushingfor Kappa when first getting into Hartfeld. But this aligns with what I HC forher.
- I imagine a lot ofkids over her school career would have tried to strike up a friendship withher, some genuine in their approach, but others not so, as they know her familyname, and would just love to have a rich kid for a friend.
-This is why she oftenisolated herself, unsure if any friends she made were for her, or parent’s coolmansion and stuff she had.
- Having said that, I thinkshe would have had one or two friends in school, kids she could comfortablywork with on assignments as such. But neverreally getting to the stage of doing anything outside school with them. (moviesand just generally hanging out etc.)
- Because of that, shewould say she “has no friends.” But I think this her underestimating herselfand others. And could have easily turned them into deeper friendships.
- Becca comes acrossto me as highly sophisticated (less so now maybe), intelligent though understated in showing it. Ithink she would have excelled in most subjects at school, even the physicalones. She enjoyed subjects that utilized her natural analyzing skill.
- Even though she may haveexcelled in most subjects at school, she never went above and beyond. Alwaysdoing the bare minimum to achieve it. (Much to the disappointment of herteachers). She didn’t permanently take on any after school activities, justwanting to get home asap.
- One semester, shedid self-reflect and became aware of her lack of friendship group. So, she thoughtshe would try with other kids more, make a new friend or two. And did try an arrayof after school clubs. None of which took.
I can’t say I havethought tons about this stage of Becca’s life, but it was fun, and I’d be interestedin reading anyone else thoughts.
