A cat has many of the same abilities of a dog but for a lot of people they are easier to maintain. Not everyone needs an animal to guide them, pull them or pick up items. A cat can do such important things such as warn a person if they are going to have a seizure, alert those with hearing impairments, if someone has low or high blood sugar. Please remember that even though the federal ADA laws regarding SA has changed, not all states have followed suit. Also, the federal ADA laws regarding service animals do not say what/if any vests, patches, leads, or collars the SA must wear.
