My brief reply to folks who diss romance novels without knowing much about them.
Jealousy
whats the point of jealousy.. Its a god awful feeling that someone else is getting it better than you did. I found out jealousy when I entered a world with a step sister and mother.. I was 8 she was 6 and I had a old school father and she had a “caring” mother. My mother cared too. but I saw her every other year for a few times here and there. I have an older brother..and with this new family everything got twisted.
My first memory of jealousy was when my step mom took my sister and I school cloths shopping. being 8 I didn’t under stand this.. I’ve never been school cloths shopping. But when we went I remember being told what my limit was and I kept under it.. but I didn’t under stand why my sister had 5 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of shoes, when I got 2 pairs and 1 set of shoes.
I didn’t ask. I assumed this is how it was meant to be. now the flip side to this.. when my sister and I, and my brother.. did something wrong.. my father would ground us and maybe get a spanking or two. But not my sister.. she had this protective bubble called mom, that even her new step father couldn’t lay a hand on. Thus began my troubles.
Once midnight hits I become even more weird & I care less
