[2/2] Better late than never... This Friday just gone, I experienced not only THE BEST night of my life, but something I've been waiting for since ever becoming a fan all those years ago - I got to see my favourite band play live for the first time! I can't sit here and list everything that was amazing about this weekend - but the best bits were when I went to order a drink at the Cherry Bar & came face-to-face/Literally almost bumped straight into BJ Armstrong (I was too shy/shocked/didn't feel worthy enough to say anything though and so just looked at my feet and kept walking - yes, I've been internally rage screaming ever since! 😂🔫 ), and then to my delight I realised that just about the entire band was there as well, minus Mike Dirnt .. unfortunately they weren't up for doing photos, but just the fact that they walked into the bar I was in - of all the places in Melbourne! - and to be able to just spend some time even in the same room had (still has) me feeling over the fucking moon! Then on gig night, I was lucky enough to have a couple freebies handed to me during the show by an absolute legend from their security team! ❤️🙌🏼 I am still on cloud nine (that's 90% of the reason I'm only getting around to writing this post now), and I legitimately feel like whatever happens for the rest of my life is now irrelevant. I will never be as happy as I was this weekend!! ❤️🤘🏼 Please excuse the blurry pics, they were all taken by Joe Trost on an iPhone 5... having said that, even professional photos don't do any justice in trying to represent the kind of vibes that were going around the arena that night, or the level of showmanship from the band themselves. Hands down, best gig I have ever been to in my life! It was either going to be a night where I realised that I've outgrown them as a band and that my teenage angsty years are over, or it would solidify what I've always known - that Green Day really are one of the best bands of all time!! I'm happy to report it was the latter.
