A Mushroom Forest; @Not Completely Frozen
This forest was known for it's Nightmare Men. Every night they would crawl out from underneath the tree roots and scamper through the worn down paths crushing mushrooms all along the way. Then, they would find the unsuspecting campers sitting by their fireplaces and listen to their stories. Pitch knew this because Nightmare Men always loved to reiterate the scary tales people liked to share with one another all the time. Most of these stories sounded similar, but the stories weren't the Nightmare Men's favourite part of the night.
Late into the evening when the moon was falling down again and the people were finally settled into their sleeping bags, the Nightmare Men would ransack their camp site. They would feed off the dreams of those there and invoke nightmares upon everyone who in the morning would blame their scary little stories for putting them all on edge.
These dreams and nightmares were always delicious. Something about the forest made them taste so fresh. At times, Pitch would encourage his fearlings to feed upon those in secluded areas as if these thoughts were the healthiest to consume.
Tonight though, Pitch was in this particular forest for a different reason.
The people staying overnight in these woods would spread rumours of different creatures scampering around the forest floor eating the mushrooms they crushed along the way. The popular opinion was that this area was haunted, and even now the Nightmare Men were considering this a possibility. Pitch had heard numerous complaints from them for a while now that things were happening without their approval, and finally one of them convinced Pitch to come check it out.
After all, who could be haunting the forest if not Pitch's minions?
What Pitch didn't account for now was that the Nightmare Men had spread these rumours to spirits across the world. Even Cupido heard of the going ons in these woods. So naturally; the guardian's were likely to have heard of this too.
