Coolpad Note 3 Lite Review
After the very good success of Coolpad Note 3 in India, company launched its smaller brother Note 3 Lite in India. The Note 3 got the appreciation from alot of people due to its high end hardware that it packs inside and a fingerprint sensor. Considering same, the Note 3 Lite does come with fingerprint sensor and offers quite good specs under Rs 7,000 price bracket. Today we review the Coolpad Note 3 Lite to let you guys know whether the smartphone really worth your money.
Design wise, it looks similar to its Big brother Note but has a gold plated frame which gives Premium feel to the device. It has rounded edges, soft touch back panel which isn’t slippery and offers quite good grip while holding in hand.
Coming on to the front, it has a 5-inch HD Display, capacitive buttons, 5MP front camera, earpiece and sensors.
On the back, it has a 13MP camera, with LED Flash, fingerprint sensor just below camera sensor and on the bottom Coolpad logo along with speaker grille. The power button houses on the top right hand side and volume rocker on the left hand side.
The Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with 5-inch 720p HD Display with very thin bezels, gives it a smaller form factor. The display is quite bright, vivid, good color saturation and offers the same quality seen in Note 3. The sunlight legibility is great, color are very accurate. Coolpad has done a great job by providing such a great IPS panel which is overall a good package in this price segment.
The device is powered by a lower Mediatek 1.3Ghz 64bit Quad Core MT6753 processor with Mali T720 GPU. Though, the company has equipped it with 3GB RAM so that people won’t complain about its Performance. However, while testing out we found that the device tends to lag up while gaming intensive games and loading time took a bit longer, due to slower SOC. The multitasking on the handset is flawless and doesn’t freezes not even a single time while the some apps are running in background.
The highlighting feature of this handset is its fingerprint sensor, it is the same sensor that we’ve seen on Coolpad Note 3 and is pretty fast and accurate. It is equipped with 13MP rear facing camera and 5MP front facing camera, which is a good combination atleast on paper. In outdoor lighting conditions, it performs pretty good, images comes out to be natural with minimal noise, details are clear and dynamic range is limited. The camera is able to focus on object very clearly even though the PDAF is absent here.
The front facing camera is good while taking selfies, but in artificial room conditions its not upto the mark but works well.
Call Quality & Connectivity
The connectivity option on the device includes Dual SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0, USB OTG. The call quality is great on the device and is able to get networks in areas where other handsets fails to reception. The dual sim slot on the handset comes with active standby on both the SIM cards.
Now let’s talk about the battery, the company has planned everything on the device with a good mindset so that the 5-inch HD Display will be able to survive for whole working day in 2500mAh capacity. The lower Mediatek processor does the job to give you quite a good battery backup. In real time usage, the Note 3 Lite beats its bigger variant Note 3 as it have powerfull GPU and bigger screen.
The 3GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, MP front camera, fingerprint sensor is a decent combo in this device and we definitely gives out two thumbs on this device. However, if you’re one of those users who plays lot of games on Smartphones then this is not your cup of tea. In our opinion, you don’t find any device that comes at Rs 7,000 along with this much specsheet that Coolpad is offering along with fingerprint sensor which is damn awesome in this device.
