While everyone is entitled to their opinions, sometimes it's not nice to voice said opinions because they are actually.... very derogatory. The 'I don't want to think about ["old" character] having sex" comments are in fact ageist, and therefore maybe Downton Abbey isn't the franchise for you, because most the characters over 40 have been having sex at some point, during the whole run of the show. People over 40 have sex. That's just how it is. So keep that stuff to the group chats, and focus on posting about the characters you love and don't worry about the characters you don't.

Intermittent hiatus

Hi all,

Servants' Hall is going to go on a bit of a break for a bit. This does mean that we won’t likely be covering the upcoming season of Call the Midwife, at least not as thoroughly as we have in the past two years. We might still marginally be around, but not as weekly. ❤️❤️

Disclaimer about tonight's post! Heavy content incoming!

Tonight's post is going to feature many heavy topics. While no graphic images will be shown, the content of the images- done in black, white, and red sketches- could still be triggering and/or upsetting to some viewers. While Im sure that many of you are understanding of these heavier topics, I still feel the need to put this out as a small warning for those who might want to skip tonight's post or view it at another time. To be honest it was even hard for me to draw. I have done my best to put as many TW in the tags that I thought might be relevant. I do apologize in advance for the heaviness of the topic- its not something I usually do, but I think its also good to not shy away from what is the harsh reality of death. Thank you all for reading. I hope that you will still enjoy the post if you choose to read it.

Just a brief update, I won't be super online from 8/30/2023-9/3/2023. We'll still be reblogging posts as we find them but the main post with all active projects will not be updated until I come back since for some reason only I can edit it.

[I seem to be having an issue where it will not let me reply to submissions (I put the textbox in and then press post and it acts like it posted but when I check the blog the post is not there and when I go back to my inbox the submission is there again... I have not yet tested whether asks work the same way, but for now I guess submissions will have to wait until whatever is going on gets fixed. I apologize for the inconvenience to anyone who has been sending submissions.]

[Furthermore, it has come to my attention that some asks are not being received by the inbox for some reason? So if I do not reply to an ask it might be that I just did not receive it. I am not sure yet whether this is an issue just affecting me or if it is an issue affecting tumblr as a whole. Again, I apologize if anyone is inconvenienced by this. I am really not sure how to (if I even can) fix this... So it is probably going to have to wait until tumblr fixes it. Sorry again!]

[I will be attempting to answer an ask to see if that will work, but if asks are being affected the same way I will have to figure out another way to answer them until this gets fixed. Most likely, I will just screenshot the ask and post it as a normal post, but we will see. I hope it will not come to that, but either way I will be trying my best to still update today!]

[tldr; there is an issue with the askbox not receiving asks and I am unable to answer submissions at this time, I have not yet confirmed if asks are working properly or not, but I have some ideas in place for answering asks if worst comes to worst.]
