NOTES Magazine is an informational resource produced by the Notes Education Collective. The Notes Education Collective provides safe, comfortable spaces for people to discuss issues that matter deeply to our society, but aren't addressed in any real, meaningful way. It's about things like economic exploitation, the wealth gap, school to prison pipeline and gender equality, as well as tools to make your life better like resume builders, basic life skills, sustainable living and community involvement. The Kickstarter campaign is to fund our first print run of 1,000 copies as well as an unlimited online PDF version. We are trying to raise $6,000 to cover those basic expenses. We have partnered with the Progressive Voices Institute - progressivevoices.com - as a fiscal sponsor so all charitable donations to NOTES are tax deductible. The collective will produce work through focused meetings. Food and refreshments will be provided by NOTES. The goal is to provide an open forum for discussion and a creative space that fosters productivity. This is the first of many events to come! If you are interested in becoming a contributing writer this is the event you want to join! This is the perfect opportunity to meet our Core NoteTakers & ask us questions about our projects at hand, create new notes, share creative ideas, and decide if you want to be a contributing writer! We have a couple of LA NoteTakers visiting our Humboldt team & would love for you to meet us all. - NOTES Magazine oh, did we mention there will be some NOTES swag? saaaay whaaat?!?!
