Saeyoung Week 2019 Day 1
Day 1: Secrets for @saeyoungweek
“I can see right through you.” Vanderwood sneered, their hand in their pocket, fingers itching to pull out the taser and use it. Their brown hair was tied up in a bun, which was a regular hairstyle in Seven’s home, as they usually spent their time there cleaning and tidying up. Their body was tense, their muscles attempting to escape the tight confines of the lavender dress shirt tucked into black finely creased pants. Their right foot in a shiny black dress shoe tapped impatiently.
Seven’s amber eyes widened behind his horn-rimmed glasses as they jumped from their face to their hand. “Wha…wha…what do you mean?”
“You’re making a mess on purpose! Your fingers aren’t broken! Pick your trash up or I swear I will fasten puppet strings through your miserable limbs and make you do it myself!” they threatened.
“Through?” Seven gulped, running a shaking hand through his thick red hair.
“Through!” Vanderwood loomed over him then did a savage 180 and stomped out of Seven’s computer room.
Seven visibly relaxed, his shoulders falling in relief. He looked around him and scowled, it wasn’t that dirty. Well, maybe there were a few too many Honey Buddha Chip bags strewn around. The sight made the stickiness in his mouth more noticeable. He rubbed his fingers along the black and orange hoodie he always wore, noting the stains for the first time. With a sigh he turned back to the bank of monitors.
He wasn’t doing it on purpose, though he certainly could take more time to clean up after himself. He was just always so busy he didn’t have time to do it. He shook his head, no, he had to admit, the clutter reminded him of childhood, reminded him of his brother. His other half. The piece of himself that would make him whole.
It didn’t matter, Saeran was happy and what he was doing would keep him that way. No one could ever find out about him. He had to remain hidden and it was Seven’s job to make sure that happened. All he could give his brother now was money. Money that allowed him to live a good life. A better life, away from their mother and away from the things Seven did.
“Saeran, I brought the garbage can in here, it’s not that hard to toss your garbage in it.” Saeyoung sighed as he picked up napkins, crumbled up paper, pencil shavings, and food wrappers in a strange ring around his brother.
“Huh, oh, yeah, sure.” Saeran’s red haired head hovered over his small notebook drawing with his broken crayons, his tongue peeking out from the corner of his mouth. Saeyoung shook his head but there was a small smile on his face. He continued to clean up because if he didn’t and their mother came in, Saeran would get beaten for being slob. It didn’t matter that the rest of the house was a pigsty. His keeping their room as neat as possible was worth it, just to see the look on Saeran’s face when he finally finished whatever he was working on and showed it to him. His amber eyes would be wide with wonder and pride, his smile would beam from ear to ear, and his chatter would be nonstop as he explained to his brother what was happening in the crudely drawn scene.
Seven hoped his brother had pursued his passion for art. He imagined Saeran in art school, that same smile on his face and it made him happy. He shoved the cans of PhD Peppers off his desk and began pounding the keys. If he wanted his brother happy, he needed to keep doing what he was doing. Vanderwood didn’t need to know what his motivation was, no one did. What was important was the safety of his brother and his happiness, that was worth a little clutter and he would just have deal with the threat of Vanderwood’s taser.
